The Origin

Where the
Idea Came From

Zero Notice didn't come from research. It came from a question that didn't have a good answer: if something happened right now, how long would it actually take me to get out?

The First Drill

The gear was there. Most serious preppers have the gear. The question was whether any of it was actually accessible under pressure — and how long a full kit-up and exit would realistically take. So the clock started. Bag, boots, everything on the list. It came in somewhere between ten and eleven minutes.

The problem was obvious the moment it was done. The drill was planned. There was no urgency. No adrenaline. No being jolted out of sleep at 2am with no context and no warm-up. Just a person going through a checklist they'd already mentally rehearsed before they started the timer. That's not a drill — that's a performance. Performances don't prepare you for emergencies. They prepare you for performances.

The gap is the warning. The moment you know a drill is coming, you've already removed the variable that makes real emergencies hard. You haven't trained your response. You've trained your readiness to train.

"The first test came in at ten minutes. That was planned, with full knowledge it was coming. The number in a real emergency would be worse. That's the problem Zero Notice is built to solve."

What Followed

Zero Notice is the solution to that problem. The app removes planning from the equation entirely. You define the protocol — your gear, your checklist, your steps — and the app fires the drill at a randomized time with zero advance notice. It cuts through Do Not Disturb. The clock starts the moment the alert hits. There's no countdown, no preview, no mental warm-up.

The result is a training condition that's actually close to a real emergency: unplanned, unwelcome, and on the clock. Run it consistently and two things happen. Your response time drops. And the gap between getting the alert and moving closes from minutes to seconds.

That compression is the entire point. The app logs every drill, tracks your time against your personal baseline, and shows your improvement over time. The data tells you exactly where you stand — not where you think you stand.
